Vance “Hollis” Hall, 68, of Kokomo went to be with the Lord, Friday July 14, 2023 at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital.
He was born on December 2, 1954 in New Orleans to Esther and Lonnie Hall. He married Kalota Dowling (Hall ) on December 29, 2014 and she survives.
Vance graduated from East Jefferson High School in Metairie, Louisiana in 1972. He worked for the City of Kokomo collecting trash and at Haynes International in Kokomo for 35 years, where he later retired. He also volunteered at many places around the community. Vance was currently a member of Crossroads Church. He also loved to go fishing, to bake and LOVED some good food. Vance was a servant to many; he would do anything to help anyone. He loved his family and friends, but most importantly he loved the Lord. Vance will be missed by his family and community.
Along with his wife of 10 years, Kalota, Vance is survived by his mother: Esther Hall, daughter: Lonnie Hall (Fort Wayne, IN.); stepdaughter: Shaniesha Waggoner (Kokomo, IN.); son: Fonston Hizer (Kokomo, IN.); sisters: Carrie Jane (Texas) and Angela (Brad) Mcmillian (New Orleans); brothers: Vincent (Alice) Hall and Fredrick (Connie) Hall (New Orleans);
grandchildren: Toryan Hall, DaiJanae Dowling, Tacoy Hall, Omileeyon Hall, Zarah Hall, Tre Hizer, Harmony Waggoner, Cerenity Marshall and Luv Clark; and great-special grandson Dailoni Hollis, named after his papa and Daxton Hizer.
He is preceded in death by his father Lonnie Hall, son: Olajuwon Hall, daughter: Shedricia Hall, stepson: Leroy Young lll and sister: Demetria Hall.
