Santee O. Murrell Sr.

Santee O’Neal Murrell Sr. was born on June 28, 1956 in Gulfport, Mississippi to the late Clarence and Susan Murrell. Santee graduated from John Marshall High School and later earned a degree from Ivy Tech. Santee married the love of his life: Charlotte Murrell on November 29,1975.

Santee was a hard working man and worked continuously to provide for his family. He worked at Nyhart from the 1980s to mid 90s; Sylvania from 2000 to 2012; and Department of Child Services from 2012 to the time of his passing.

Santee had many talents, one being drawing. His artwork was very detailed and original. He loved fishing, listening to music (especially Jazz), and playing basketball. He enjoyed traveling and always wanted the family to take road trips together. Most of all, Santee loved to barbecue and spend time with his family. Family came first and was most important to Santee. Santee never met a stranger and was kind to everyone. He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him. 

Santee transitioned from Earth to Glory on October 2, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Susan Murrell, grandmother:   sisters: Mary and Audrey Murrell, and niece: Natalie Murrell.

Santee leaves to carry his legacy his wife: Charlotte Murrell; children: Patrick (TY) Tigner, Santee Murrell Jr., and Latasha (Dwayne) Jones; bonus children: Derick, Gloria, Sean, Kevin, Latasha S., Denise, Steph, Corkney, Jim Bo, and Ted (Son/Nephew); siblings: Clarence (Marie) Murrell, Jerry Murrell, Ezzel (Amber) Murrell, and Charlotte Harmon; in-laws he treated like sisters: Shirley Coleman, Brenda Tigner and Marsha Vertner; close friends: Alford Robinson, Charles Weaver, Pete Weaver, Andy Wilks and Robert Lee; 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
