Nikkayia S. Gray

Nikkayia “Nikki G” Shoneese Gray, 45 years old, passed away on Tuesday, December 6th, 2022, at IU Methodist hospital. 

Nikkayia was born on December 03, 1977, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Chester Gray and Tonia (Demmings) Holder. Nikkayia was oldest of 5 children.She had received her education in the Indianapolis Public School system.

Nikkayia loved being surrounded by people who loved her and whom she loved. Though Nikki never had kids, she had many godchildren.  She was especially close to Patrice, Kory, Dominique Troutman and Chantez Harlan, whom she loved and treated as if they were her own. She always had a passion for kids because she had a heart of gold. 

But, if you know Nikki, then you can’t forget the G.

Nikki fell ill in 2017. While she pulled through, this time she felt she should get her rest. Nikki had a heart-warming personality and a caring attitude. She was an amazing daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend. She touched the lives of so many people. She will be truly missed - especially that huge smile. She will never, ever be forgotten.

Nikki was preceded in death by her grandparents Meddie and Eloise Demmings, Clarence and Mollie Gray and also her nephew, Ni’Gair Saeed Cowans.

Nikkayia is survived by her father, Chester Gray; Mother Tonia Demmings Holder (Robert); brother Niondre Gray; sisters Nieshia Cowans Patrick (Semaj Sr), Terren Wilson and Stacee Gray; nieces Niasia, Destiny, Khloe, and Khrista; nephew, Semaj II; her special friend, Avis White, along with a host of aunts and uncles and cousins and extended family.
