Nancy Jo Cobb

Nancy Jo Cobb, the daughter of Jacque Durham Sr. & Ida Mae Taylor, was born October 7, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Nancy attended IPS elementary schools & Crispus Attacks High School.

Nancy professed her faith in Christ at an early age and worshipped at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed by many businesses and retired from Customer Services in 2011.

On January 21, 1961, Nancy was united in Holy Matrimony to Melvin Louis Cobb Sr.

Affectionately called by her family and friends as “NAN” or simply “MOMMA” and of course “GRANDMA.”

Nancy enjoyed hobbies which included cooking, knitting, fishing, “rag picking”, & spending time with her family and friends.

Ms. Nancy Jo Cobb departed this life on February 29, 2024, at the age of 79 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; Jacque Durham Sr. and Ida Mae Taylor, four children; Cassandra Cobb, Melvin Louis Cobb Jr., Patricia Horne and Duane Marcus Cobb Sr., one sister; Lisa Spain & three brothers; Jacque Durham Jr. Keith Spain & Curtis Taylor.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Celeste Cobb (Jones); son, Gregory Cobb; two sisters, Wanda Morris & Jacy Durham; four brothers, Samuel Spain, Kevin Spain, Jacque Clayton-Durham and Juan Durham; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren & one great-great grandchild, and a host of friends and family.
