Joe W. Gaillard was called home by the Lord on May 4, 2022.
Joe was born on November 10, 1939 in Ripley, Mississippi to the late G.C. Gaillard and the late Lina Mae (Edgeston) Gaillard.
Joe was a graduate of Tippah County High School in Mississippi. He was proud to have completed his military service by serving in the US Army. He worked at Chrysler Corporation for 40 years retiring as an electrician.
Joe accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of Wayman Chapel AME Church, serving for many years as a Steward.
Joe enjoyed sports, being an especially dedicated fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Hoosiers. He also enjoyed coaching basketball. He coached the Carver Community Center basketball team during the 1970s, as well as coaching PAL basketball and the Wayman Chapel women’s softball team.
On July 3, 1966, he was united in Holy Matrimony to JoAnn (Taylor) Gaillard.
Joe was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Mitchell, Eunice Gaillard, and Evie Gaillard, and sister, Bessie Ann Johnson.
Joe leaves precious memories to be cherished by his wife, JoAnn Gaillard of Kokomo, Indiana; Sons, Arnold D. Malone (Eina) and Jared L. Gaillard (Melissa) of Kokomo, Indiana; Daughter, Angela F. Gaillard of Kokomo, Indiana; Brothers,Teal J. Gaillard (Anita) of Carmel, Indiana; Jimmie C. Gaillard (Brenda) of Kokomo, Indiana; Aunt, Dorothy Bails of Ripley, Mississippi; Grandchildren, Kara Malone, Keenen Malone and KaRan Malone (Brittney) all of Kokomo, Indiana; Brooklyn Watters of Indianapolis, Indiana; Jacob Gaillard of Kokomo, Indiana; Andrew Guge (Hannah) of Noblesville, Indiana; Alexus Simms and Keyanna Ware of Kokomo, Indiana; Several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.
