Jalen Dowling

Jalen De’Onte Dowling was born at St. Vincent Hospital on January 25, 1997.Jalen graduated from Kokomo High School in 2015. Jalen was the oldest out of six children.

Jalen loved sports, but basketball was his favorite. He played for school, Carver Center, and various city leagues. He also enjoyed competing with his friends on the PlayStation.

Jalen passed away at Ascension St.Vincent in Indianapolis on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 7:27pm. Jalen was an organ donor and helped save six lives.

Jalen was proceeded in his death by his great-grandmother : Lessie Mae Bean, grandfathers: James “Butch” Grimes and Herbert Strong, nana: Karen Dowling and cousins: Leroy Young and Aleea Graves.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents: Keisha Hendrickson (Desrick) and DaSedric Dowling, grandparents: Wilton and Frankie Hendrickson and Marlene Grimes; special aunt: Anita Kay Herring; siblings, Moneisha Grady, Dai Janae Dowling, Zavion Hendrickson, Malik Harris, and Gionni Harris; niece: Malaysia Jewel, nephew: DaiLoni and a host of family and friends.
