Izera McAfee

Today we celebrate the life of Izera McAfee. Izera was born to
Ervin and Minnie Lee McAfee (Williams) on September 10, 1957.
She was reared in Indianapolis among numerous family members
and friends. Izera was also the proud mother of two children,
Cazembe and Jendayi Day.
Izera held a vast love for education. After graduating from Arsenal
Technical High School in Indianapolis, she earned her bachelor’s
degree in business administration and later received a master’s
degree in nonprofit management. Izera not only enjoyed her
education experience, she also applied her expertise to numerous
endeavors, from the co-creation of N.O.A.H. Foster Care Agency
to managing the Jubilee Center within the Oaks Academy.
Her love of people and unwavering faith fostered her desire to
participate in multiple ministries throughout the Indianapolis
area, including Debra’s Daughters and The Overcoming Church
Dominion Dancers. Her many accomplishments reach from Los
Angeles, CA to Indianapolis, IN; with her hands touching many
souls along the way.
After a year and a half long battle with cancer, Izera passed away
on September 15, 2021, at 64 years of age. Izera was preceded in
death by her father, Ervin; mother, Minnie Lee; sisters, Alma Lee
Clarkson and Angeline McAfee; and brother, Felix McAfee.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her children, Cazembe
and Jendayi; her siblings, Almeta Bastities, John (JoAnn) Scott,
Jean (Angelo) King, Valerie Wells, Tequila DuBois, Kemba
McAfee, Danyelle McAfee, and Ashley McAfee; and many more
nieces, nephews, cousins, and very good friends.
She was an educator, advisor, minister, creative, loving family
member, good friend, and servant of the Most High. We give honor
to her life and say farewell in her passing.
