Hubert Lee Griffin was born on March 7, 1938 in Sebastopol, Mississippi to F.C. Griffin and Dora Harrison. Hubert Lee Griffin received some education through the Mississippi School System. He was the oldest of fifteen kids.
Hubert Lee was known by all who knew him as "Shot". As a young boy he worked most of the day picking cotton to help take care of his family. He loved to work. At 17 years old, he started working with Lawrence Beavens Construction, where they specialized in swimming pools, building homes, concrete driveways and many other construction projects. He continued to work there until he retired. Shot was a loveable person who loved spending time with his family, traveling, hunting, fishing, cooking and eating.
Shot attended Zion Hill Baptist Church at a young age. Later he joined Good Hope M.B.C. and gave his life to the LORD. Although he wasn't an active church member, he knew the LORD for himself. Shot left his earthly tabernacle at the age of eighty-three years, seven months and four days.
He was proceeded in death by parents, Dora Harrison and F.C. Griffin; sons; Robert Griffin and Randy Griffin; brothers, Eddie (Red), Gus, and John and one sister, Suzie.
Shot leaves to cherish his memories; sons, Bryant Griffin, Michael Jones and Leroy White; daughters, Patricia Griffin, Joann Rhoden (Ralph), Kathy Griffin and Simrita Anderson; brothers, Paul "Corn", William "Bill", Joseph "Nene" and JC "Jady" (Judy); sisters, Marlene "May", Earnestine "Nana", Mary "Putt", Dora"Soyie"; twenty five grandchildren, seventy four great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren, two aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
