Gail Williams Obituary

Gail Williams, also known as “GW” or “Sista” was born May 28, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to Willie C. Williams and Mayme Louise (Scott) Williams. Gail was the second of three children.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of Providence Baptist Church; there she was a servant of God and was known for bringing several people alongside of her to worship the Lord.

Gail completed her elementary education at St. Francis Elementary School and received her High School education at Chicago Vocational High School (CVS). She was known for her radiant beauty, infectious laughter, and quick wit. Gail brightened the lives of everyone she met. Her presence in her community was not only felt but deeply appreciated by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a special way of making everyone feel loved and valued, especially the children, whom she adored.

Among her many passions, Gail loved playing dominos, cards and a host of other things. She loved her family and a good time making memories. Gail had a particular fondness for doing hair, bartending, cooking and music. As a homemaker, Gail had the privilege of catering to the needs of others, specifically her mother. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she found joy in bringing happiness to others through simple gestures of kindness.

Gail leaves behind a strong legacy of love and laughter that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known her. While she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were touched by her grace and compassion.

Gail was preceded in death by her father; Willie C. Williams, mother; Mayme Louise Williams, and sisters; Lois Williams and Carolyn Smart.

She is survived by her children; Marcus Cole, Cassie Cole, Matthew Williams (Shaquita) and twins; Terrance and Tyler Williams, six grandchildren; Marcus Cole Jr., Nichayla Glass, Darion Williams, Kamari Cole, Maddison and Majesty Williams, one great-grandchild; MaCari Cole, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
