Carolyn Mays Obituary

Carolyn Jean Mays was born to the late Robert Mays and Mae Oler Mays on February 12, 1967 in Indianapolis Indiana.

Carolyn attended the Indianapolis Public School and she later received her GED. Carolyn professed her life to Christ at an early age. Carolyn worked many jobs, but none was as important as her full-time job working for the Lord. As her grandmother would always say, "serving the Lord will pay off after while". Carolyn loved her family and many friends, her grandbabies were the high light of her life. She also loved cooking and trying to bring her family together. She could never get everybody together at once. Well look at God! We are all together! Carolyn finally did it! Carolyn got everybody together in one place like she always wanted. I can hear her now in her "Medea's" voice, "I knowed it! I knowed it!

Carolyn was a member of the Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church under the leader of Pastor Robert Mays Jr. She also worked on the usher board and song in the choir. Her favorite
song was, (If anybody asks you where I'm going, tell them I'm going up yonder to be with my Lord). Carolyn was an active member until her health started to decline. Carolyn often asked questions about when she read the bible; her sister Ann and brother Pastor Mays always helped her out and showed her the resources to get her the right answers, which she truly loved
and enjoyed.

Carolyn Jean Mays departed this life September 18, 2021 at the age of 54 years old. Carolyn preceded in death by her parents, Robert Mays Sr. and Mae Oler Mays, one sister; Loretta Mays and one brother; Martin Mays.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her precious memories her two sons; Antwon Bell and Travon Mays, nine grandchildren, two sisters; Ella Buford, Annetta Buford, four brother; Pastor Robert Mays Jr (Sherry), Willie Mays Sr. (Lorna), Preston Mays Sr. (Donna), Kenneth Mays, Grandmother Lorine Allen, six aunties; Willie P.
