Ms.Betty Jean Hardiman Washington; A.K.A "BIG MAMMA" was born on May 28, 1946 in Duckhill, Mississippi to the late Roy Hardiman and Lillie Caldonia Powell. She spent her younger years in Cleveland Ohio and Mississippi before relocating to Indianapolis, Indiana.
Betty attended IPS School #26, #45, and Tech High School. She confessed Christ at an early age and later in life joined Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church, Under the leadership of the late Rev. Albert Townsend.
Betty Retired from Celadon Trucking after working as a Housekeeper for more 10years. She was the oldest of 13 brothers and sisters and loved listening to her blues and gospel music. She also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Betty was well loved and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Betty gained her Heavenly Wings on June 12, 2021 at the age of 75 years and 15 days old. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Hardiman Sr., Mother, Lillie Caldonia Powell, Step Mother, Magnolia Hardiman, daughter, Jeanette Hardiman , Brother and Sister Grady and Connie Hardiman, and 3 Grandchildren, Nichelle, Da'Shawn and Tyson.
Betty leaves to cherish her loving memories; Her Children, Paulette, Faye, Michelle (Patrick), Rodney,Kevin (Lakisha), Keith and Antoine. Her Siblings, Roy Jr., Elma, Larry, Jimmy, Charles, Vanessa, Robin (Clarence), Alvin (Tanika), and Sonya. 24 Grandchildren, 36 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, 2 close cousins, Demetrius and Eddie, 2 long time friends, Ruth and Mary. A host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
